We keep your email, the stocks and alerts you set up and the reports you ask for. We do not sell your data, and we never see your card number.
What We Collect
- Your email address, when you sign up or ask for a report or alert.
- What you set up: watchlists, alerts and their thresholds, email preferences, notes, and the reports you request.
- Questions you ask Scout, our chat assistant, and the page you were on when you asked.
- Purchases: what you bought, when, and Stripe's reference for the payment. Your card number is entered on Stripe's page and never reaches us.
- How you found us and used the site: the page and referring site of your first visit, the pages you open, and your browser type. We use this to see what works.
- Email activity: that a message was delivered, bounced or marked as spam, so we stop sending when we should.
How We Use It
- To sign you in, send the alerts and reports you asked for, and run the account.
- To take payment and give you the credits you bought.
- To answer your questions in Scout.
- To keep the site safe and stop abuse, such as people collecting extra free reports.
- To understand which pages and features people use, and improve them.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who Helps Us Run The Site
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Stripe processes payments.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Heroku hosts the site and its database.
- PostHog provides product analytics.
- Anthropic answers Scout questions. The question and the page context you are viewing are sent to it.
- Our report service writes reports. It receives the stock symbol, the date and public market figures, not your name or email.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and remember choices on the site, and analytics from PostHog to see how pages are used. We do not run advertising cookies.
Your Choices
- Email: every message has links to turn off that kind of email or all email.
- Your data: to see, correct or delete your account and its data, reply to any email from us or use the Feedback button, and we will act on it. Records of payments are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Residents of some places (such as California and the European Union) have legal rights over their data. We honor those requests the same way, whatever your location.
Keeping Data Safe And Kept
We use encrypted connections, sign-in links that expire, and access limits on our systems. No system is perfectly secure. We keep your data while your account is open and delete it when you ask, apart from what we must keep by law.
Children
GetMarketAlerts is not for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
